Wow, the Washington Navy Yard (and crossing M Street to get to the Barracks!) brings back some GREAT memories. When I was at 8th and I, Guard Company with the SDT, the Color Sergeant of the Marine Corp, and Body Bearers were all housed in Building 58 on the Navy Yard. At the time CPT James Jones, who went on to be the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the National Security Advisor, was my first CO, followed by one of the Van Riper twins.
